Also comes with a matching navy 3 button, single breasted waistcoat, which is made from 100% new wool. Both the jacket and waistcoat are dry clean only. The Prince Charlie is traditionally worn with off-white socks, ghillie brogues, a full dress sporran, and a bow tie (or ruche tie depending on your preference). When wearing your waistcoat with your Prince Charlie, you normally do not wear a kilt belt as the belt and buckle are not visible. Though named for the famous Jacobite leader, Prince Charlie jackets did not come into common usage until the 19th century, after the tartan revival initiated by Sir Walter Scott.
When measuring for your jacket and waistcoat please allow at least 1" or 2" give for comfort and movement. For example if you measure as a snug 38" chest order a 40" jacket. The additional size will allow for comfortable body movement when wearing the jacket and waistcoat. Ensure your measurements are accurate re-measure at least twice! If possible get a tailor or seamstress to measure you up.
